Jordan Pope hit two free throws with 13 seconds left and the Oregon State men’s basketball team rallied from another halftime deficit to knock off UTSA 66-65 on Sunday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
Pope finished with a game-high 19 points and the Beavers improved to 7-0 at home and 7-3 overall.
The Beavers closed the game on a 7-2 run.
Dexter Akanno added 15 points while K.C. Ibekwe had 11 and Tyler Bilodeau 10 for the Beavers.
Oregon State made 15 of 30 attempts in the second half after struggling a bit from the field in the first half.
The Beavers trailed by as many as nine points in the first half and were down 33-27 at the break.
UTSA shot 46.7% from the floor, making 14 of 30 shots and hitting 5 of 13 3-point attempts in the first half. The Beavers were just 11 for 28 (39.3%) overall from the field and hit 2 of 6 3-pointers.

Pope scored 12 points and hit 5 of 7 attempts, including both 3-point tries. The rest of the team was just 6 for 21 overall and 0 for 4 from deep.
Oregon State led for just 1:03 in the first half.
The Beavers wrap up the nonconference campaign at 4 p.m. Thursday at home against Idaho State.
