One of Oregon State’s starting quarterbacks this season is entering the transfer portal.
Redshirt sophomore Gabarri Johnson announced his entrance into the portal soon after it opened on Thursday night.
Johnson played in 11 games for OSU in 2025, starting three after Maalik Murphy was benched. He threw for a total of 501 yards and two touchdowns, along with three interceptions, and rushed for an additional 119 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
After one season at Missouri, during which he redshirted, the dual-threat Johnson transferred to OSU prior to the 2024 season. He appeared in six games for the Beavers in 2024.
Johnson originally hails from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, and was a four-star prospect in 2023 according to 247Sports. He has at least two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
OSU has a total of 20 players in the transfer portal as of Thursday night. That includes starters on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball as new head coach JaMarcus Shephard builds his 2026 roster.
