CORVALLIS, Ore. (KATU) — The Oregon State Beavers welcomed their new head football coach today during a press conference in Corvallis.

JaMarcus Shephard comes to OSU from Alabama where he served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Crimson Tide.
Shephard is no stranger to the Pacific Northwest after coaching at the University of Washington and Washington State University.
“A great opportunity for me and my family to be here,” said Shephard.

During the press conference, Shephard spoke to the rebuilding of Beaver Nation.
“We need to be excellent in all things that we do,” Shephard said. He talked about the discipline needed to not only succeed on the football field, but across the athletic department and university.
Shephard will be at the helm as Oregon State and Washington State welcome in new members of a rebuilt Pac-12 next season.
“The culture here will be contagious,” Shephard stated.

The Beavers went 2-10 this past season. The last winning season in Corvallis came in 2023 when OSU went 8-5 and played in the Sun Bowl.
