The 42-year-old Alabama receivers coach takes over as Oregon State’s football coach, replacing Trent Bray.

Oregon State will introduce football coach JaMarcus Shephard during a press conference at noon Tuesday in Corvallis.
The Beavers hired Shephard, 42, last Friday following a six-week search to replace Trent Bray, who was fired midway through the 2025 season.
Shephard comes from Alabama, where he’s currently an assistant coach overseeing receivers. This is Shephard’s third stop in the Northwest, as he previously served as an assistant coach at Washington State (2016) and Washington (2022-23).
