Oregon State football has at least one thing to be thankful for this year.
Local recruit Deryk Farmer — a safety out of Cascade Christian High School in Medford — announced his commitment to the Beavers on Thursday.
Farmer also plays quarterback and linebacker for the Challengers. He received an offer from OSU last week after a conversation with director of player personnel Todd McShane.
OSU lost the commitment of three-star wide receiver/cornerback Malcolm Watkins on Wednesday due to the uncertainty surrounding its search for a head coach. It is back up to eight total high school commits from the 2026 class with the addition of Farmer.
The remaining seven — all three-star recruits — are running back Braylon Tolliver (Erie, CO); wide receiver Cynai Thomas (San Francisco, CA); tight end Landon Cook (Concord, CA); linebacker Jeremiah Brown (San Jacinto, CA); cornerback Kai Wheaton (Allen, TX); edge rusher Adel Dorr (Issaquah, WA); and safety Cammeron Purnell (San Diego, CA).
