The Oregon State Beavers lead the Colorado State Rams 21-10 Saturday afternoon in the fourth quarter of a college football game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis. The game is airing live on The CW. You can watch live for free with Fubo (free trial), or with DirecTV Stream (free trial).

LIVE UPDATES

FOURTH QUARTER: OREGON STATE 21, COLORADO STATE 10 — 8:30

Rams’ eighth drive

Colorado State answers with a methodical drive of its own. The Rams started at their 25, but they march into OSU territory and now have it second and goal from the OSU 9-yard line. The clock goes under 9 minutes to play in the game. A short throw to Person takes the Rams down to the 5-yard line. On third and goal, the Rams have to burn a timeout to avoid a delay of game penalty.

Beavers’ seventh drive

Oregon State starts from its 13-yard line. Trent Walker can’t hang on to the pass from McCoy, and it falls incomplete. McCoy keeps for 7 yards, then finds Terry for an 18-yard completion and a first down. A couple plays later, on third and 3, Hankerson is stopped after a 1-yard gain. On fourth and 2, the offense stays on the field. McCoy finds Reddicks over the middle for the first down, on a gain of 9. On the next play, McCoy checks it down for a pass to Hankerson, and he dives ahead for 8 more. Hankerson runs up the middle and picks up the first down. The Beavers are down to the Colorado State 36. Now McCoy’s pass is incomplete, but there’s a flag. It’s defensive holding, so that gives OSU a first down. Two plays later, a Rams offside gives the Beavers another first down. On second and 11, McCoy completes it to Terry for 7 yards. That brings up third and 3 from the CSU 8-yard line. Hankerson gets the carry, and he’s stopped after a yard. That’s the end of the third quarter. OSU will have fourth and 2 when the fourth quarter begins. The Beavers still lead it 14-10. On fourth and 2, McCoy gets the first down, and then with his second effort he’s into the end zone for a touchdown. The extra point is good, so the Beavers go up 21-10 with 14:52 to go. It was a 14-play drive that went 87 yards and chewed up 8:51 off the clock.

Rams’ seventh drive

Colorado State moves the ball up to its 46-yard line, but then the drive stalls and the Rams are forced to punt. It’s a 41-yard punt, and the Beavers will take over at their 13-yard line with 8:43 to play in the third quarter, after a TV timeout.

Beavers’ sixth drive

Oregon State goes three-and-out to start the second half. McCoy had a keeper on third down and tried to tiptoe down the sideline toward the first-down marker, but he stepped out four yards short of the line to gain. Oregon State punts it away, and Colorado State will take over at its 9 after a penalty on the Rams during the return.

Rams’ sixth drive

After a touchback, Colorado State gets the ball at its 25. The Rams run the ball for a short gain, and the half ends. Oregon State leads it 14-10 at the break.

Beavers’ fifth drive

Anthony Hankerson begins the OSU drive with a 20-yard run, to midfield. Later in the drive, McCoy finds Trent Walker over the middle for a 16-yard completion. That brings up the two-minute timeout before halftime. The Beavers have it third and goal from the 10-yard line. McCoy keeps it and is out around the 4-yard line, but there’s a flag on the play. The call is holding on Colorado State, so that gives the Beavers a first down from the Colorado State 2. Another defensive holding gives the Beavers the ball at the 1, with 12 seconds left. The run goes up the middle to Hankerson, but he’s marked just short of the goal line. The Beavers burn their final timeout with seven seconds to play in the half. Now, the previous play is under review to determine whether Hankerson scored. After review, the call stands. Now OSU has second and goal from the half-yard line with seven seconds before the half. This time Hankerson scores a touchdown, right up the gut. And now that play is under review. The call stands, so the Beavers are up 13-10, pending the extra point. The point after is good, so OSU leads it 14-10 with three seconds left in the first half.

Rams’ fifth drive

Colorado State puts together a 10-play, 68-yard drive, but the Rams have to settle for a Jordan Noyes 25-yard field goal. Still, the Rams regain the lead at 10-7 after the kick sails through the uprights. Colorado State had what would have been an 11-yard touchdown run by Justin Marshall negated by an illegal formation penalty.

Beavers’ fourth drive

OSU running back Jam Griffin, who left with an injury after fumbling the ball on the Beavers’ second drive, has been ruled out for the rest of the game. The Beavers go 82 yards in 10 plays, with quarterback Gevani McCoy scampering 29 yards for a keeper TD that ties the game at 7-7 with 11:04 to play in the first half.

Rams’ fourth drive

The Beavers’ defense delivers again. After allowing a 23-yard run on the first play of the drive, OSU’s defense stymied Colorado State, forcing a punt on 4th-and-17 at the CSU 31-yard line. The Beavers were aided by an offensive pass interference penalty and an overthrow by Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi on a deep pass to Tory Horton. Colorado State was forced to punt for the second drive in a row.

Beavers’ third drive

At least the Beavers didn’t commit a turnover? OK … it was another rough drive for Oregon State. After Anthony Hankerson picked up 12 yards on the first two plays, the Beavers mustered just seven on the next three downs and had to punt. OSU is 0-for-3 on their first three possessions.

Rams’ third drive

The Beavers’ defense held firm on the quick change of possession, forcing Colorado State into a three-and-out. The Rams gained just eight yards.

Beavers’ second drive

OSU’s second possession couldn’t have gone much worse. After six plays and two first downs, the Beavers coughed up another turnover and lost a key player to an injury. On 1st-and-10 at the Colorado State 47-yard line, Jam Griffin fumbled while taking an awkward hit, then limped off the field with an apparent left leg injury. Nuer Gatkuoth caused the fumble and Will Prendergast recovered for the Rams. Griffin’s legs bent awkwardly during the play and, after a brief evaluation on the field, he departed and beelined to the injury tent on the OSU sideline.

Rams’ second drive

Colorado State wasted little time making McCoy and the Beavers pay for their early miscue. On first-and-10 from the 12-yard line, Justin Marshall took a handoff and raced left, sprinting untouched for a 12-yard touchdown run. The Rams strike first, taking an early 7-0 lead.

Beavers’ opening drive

Gevani McCoy picked an inopportune time to throw his first interception of the season. McCoy hit Jermaine Terry II in the hands with a short pass over the middle, but CSU linebacker Chase Wilson hit Terry the moment he touched ball and it shot into the air. Gabe Kirschke corralled it for a pick. The Beavers’ opening drive was sloppy, featuring two penalties and McCoy’s pick. Rough start for the Beavers.

Rams’ opening drive

Colorado State gained one first down and seemed to put putting together some early momentum against the OSU defense. But the Rams were derailed by back-to-back video reviews — which overturned first down plays — and had to punt. The second review nullified an an 8-yard first-down run and set up a 4th-and-5 at the Colorado State 46-yard line.

The Beavers won the toss and elected to defer to the second half. So the Rams will receive the opening kickoff.
