Oregon State football is bringing a former four-star wide receiver prospect into the program via the transfer portal.
Former Alabama wideout Aeryn “Bubba” Hampton is transferring to OSU, according to a report from 247Sports.
Hampton originally hails from Daingerfield, Texas, and as a four-star prospect in 2024 was rated the No. 9 athlete in the country and No. 37 player in Texas according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
After appearing in just three games his freshman year at Alabama and making one catch for six yards, Hampton missed the remainder of the season due to injury. Buried in the depth chart in JaMarcus Shephard’s wide receivers room in 2025, he left the Crimson Tide program during fall camp and took a redshirt year — eventually entering the transfer portal.
247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks evaluated Hampton during high school in 2023: “Displays a unique, somewhat unorthodox, but effective run-after-catch gait that regularly fuels chunk plays. Changes speeds particularly well and flashes elusive stop-start agility. Plays above his listed size in capability of high-pointing contested throws.”
