Bryson Beaver, who signed with UO in December and enrolled earlier this month, is going to enter the transfer portal, according to On3.
Oregon’s quarterback group saw significant churn since Beaver signed, with Austin Novosad and Luke Moga transferring out, Dante Moore returning and former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola signing.
A four-star prospect, Beaver was ranked No. 174 overall and No. 12 among quarterbacks in the 247Sports Composite.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Beaver was an Elite 11 finalist and was committed to Boise State last spring before flipping to UO.
On signing day, Dan Lanning said Beaver checked all of the boxes they look for at quarterback.
“This is a guy that obviously got really hot towards the end and had a lot of opportunities and places that he could go,” Lanning said. “But you fall in love with the family. Bryson’s got an unbelievable group around him. And then you really get to recognize the arm talent, the things that exist there that are gonna be beneficial. And a piece you want in your program. Then the ability to mentally handle the load we ask our quarterbacks to handle.”
Similarly, quarterback Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele enrolled at Oregon prior to last year’s Rose Bowl and transferred to Cal shortly thereafter.
Beaver will be the 26th scholarship player to transfer from UO this offseason, joining defensive linemen Xadavien Sims, Ashton Porter, Jericho Johnson, Tionne Gray and Terrance Green, receivers Justius Lowe, Kyler Kasper and Cooper Perry, defensive backs Jahlil Florence, Dakoda Fields, Solomon Davis, Sione Laulea, Kingston Lopa and Daylen Austin, quarterbacks Austin Novosad and Luke Moga, offensive lineman Lipe Moala and running backs Jay Harris, Makhi Hughes and Jayden Limar, outside linebackers Kamar Mothudi, Blake Purchase and Tobi Hasstrup and tight ends Vander Ploog and Roger Saleapaga.
Oregon has 73 projected scholarship players in 2026, including three quarterbacks, plus walk-on Brock Thomas.
