The Oregon State football team got some extra good news on Thanksgiving, adding another local recruit from the class of 2026.
On Thursday afternoon, Philomath’s Rocco De La Rosa announced a commitment to Oregon State.
De La Rossa was all over the field for Philomath this fall. De La Rossa is 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, and is listed as a receiver and defensive back.
On offense, he pulled in 41 receptions for 638 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall. He also recorded 424 rushing yards and scored five more touchdowns on the ground.
On defense, De La Rossa had six interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.
He also had two return touchdowns and passed for one more.
De La Rossa was the Oregon West Conference Offensive Player of the Year this fall. He was a first team all-league selection as a receiver and kick returner and was a second team selection as an outside linebacker.
This is the second Oregon high schooler to commit to Oregon State on Thanksgiving. Cascade Christian safety Deryk Farmer announced a commitment to the Beavers on Thursday morning.
De La Rossa is the second Philomath football player to announce a Pac 12 commitment this year. CD Nuño announced a commitment to Boise State back in September.
