Oregon State freshman quarterback shines in fourth quarter against Tulsa

CORVALLIS, Ore. — After going down 31-0 in the fourth quarter of Oregon State’s football game against Tulsa, the Beavers called on freshman quarterback Tristan Ti’a who came in and led OSU to two touchdowns.

“A lot of people were asking me if I was nervous or something,” said Ti’a, “but I feel like it kind of just came natural to me. Just felt like I was meant to be in that spot at that time.”

The freshman from Livermore, Calif. finished 8/11 for 141 yards.

Up until the last game, Ti’a was the scout team quarterback, which he admitted helped prepare him for the moment.

“I think being on scout really helped me with my pocket presence and just being patient,” explained Ti’a. “I think that was really going good for me during the Tulsa game.”

Interim head coach Robb Akey did not give any public insight to who will start at quarterback for the Beavers on Saturday.
