Oregon State defensive line looks to bring pressure again at Washington State

Oregon State is gearing up for another match-up with Washington State this week.

The last time the Beavers and the Cougars faced off it was a defensive battle with only 17 points total falling in favor of Oregon State.

A big factor in Oregon State’s win in the first game against Washington State was the pressure the Beavers’ defensive line brought, forcing two interceptions and six sacks.

But containing the quarterback is still the main goal for the Oregon State defense heading into round two.

“We got to keep the quarterback bottled up,” said Beavers defensive line coach Ilaisa Tuiaki.

“That was one thing from the last game, the quarterback’s ability to scramble and throw passes. We’ve got to make sure that we keep him bottled up, and that will hurt us on defense.”
