The Beavers are getting better in the backfield.
Oregon State football is adding talent and experience to its backfield.
Former Louisiana Tech running back Marquis Crosby announced his transfer to the Beavers on Monday. Crosby, entering his redshirt senior year, could form a dynamic duo with fellow redshirt senior Anthony Hankerson in the OSU running back room.
Crosby rushed for 214 yards on 53 carries last season for the Bulldogs, scoring one touchdown. He missed nearly all of the 2023 season due to injury, but as a sophomore in 2022 was highly productive with 918 yards and nine touchdowns.
Even if his production dropped returning from injury, his redshirt junior season, the Beavers are betting on Crosby’s potential and experience as he joins Hankerson and new quarterback Maalik Murphy.
In October, Crosby showed off his arm as well, with the lefty tossing a touchdown pass on a trick play against Middle Tennessee State.
Hankerson played in all 12 games and rushed for 1,082 yards and 15 touchdowns last season for the Beavers. Oregon State’s running back room rounds out with Salahadin Allah, Jake Reichle and Cornell Hatcher Jr.
