The Beavers are bringing another defensive back into the fold.
Oregon State football has its second transfer portal addition of the weekend.
After earning the commitment of Georgia State offensive tackle Will Larkins, the Beavers added James Madison cornerback Tyjai Hopper into the fold on Sunday.
Hopper, originally a three-star prospect out of Alpharetta, Georgia, played two seasons at James Madison including one redshirt year. He rarely saw the field and will seek further opportunities with the Beavers in the seasons to come.
Listed at 6-1, 192 pounds, Hopper adds depth to a cornerbacks room for OSU with plenty of size and length. The defensive backfield played a major role in a mostly dominant day for the Beavers defense in Saturday’s spring game, which included just one offensive touchdown.
In the age of unfettered transfer portal freedom, Hopper can join the OSU football program immediately and be eligible to play come the fall.
