Gulbranson had previously stepped away from football, but his playing career appears to be back on.

After initially stepping away from the game, former Oregon State quarterback Ben Gulbranson is instead entering the transfer portal.
While it was assumed Gulbranson would start medical school after ending his tenure with the Beavers in January, it appears his football career will continue via the portal.
Gulbranson started three of OSU’s final four games this past season, totaling 12 starts in his Beavers career. In his appearances in 2024, Gulbranson threw for 943 yards and four touchdowns. He totaled nearly 2,700 yards in his OSU career.
Entering his redshirt senior year, Gulbranson was originally a three-star recruit out of Newbury Park High School in California. He joined the Beavers in 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic season.
