Oregon State quarterback Ben Gulbranson doesn’t make the trip to Air Force

Gulbranson started last Saturday’s game against San Jose State, his first of the season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Oregon State junior Gevani McCoy will return to his role as starting quarterback for Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. game against Air Force.

The change was made when Ben Gulbranson did not make the trip to Air Force. It was not known why Gulbranson, who started last Saturday’s game against San Jose State, did not make the trip.

Gulbranson completed 24 of 37 passes for 292 yards against the Spartans.

McCoy started OSU’s first eight games this season. McCoy hasn’t played since he was pulled during the second quarter against California on October 26. McCoy is 123 of 200 for 1,300 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Johnson has played in four games, including a handful of plays against California. He is 5 of 8 for 48 yards, and has run for 37 yards.
