Chatterton coached at Oregon State for 10 years, a period when the Beavers won at least 20 games seven times
Oregon State is losing more than players from its 2023-24 women’s basketball Elite Eight roster.
Veteran assistant coach Jonas Chatterton is leaving the Beavers staff to take a similar role at Oklahoma, it was announced Friday. Chatterton was named associate head coach, the same title he held at Oregon State.
Chatterton, 48, has coached at Oregon State since 2014. At Oklahoma, Chatterton joins rising junior forward Raegan Beers, who announced that she’s transferring to the Sooners’ program after two years at OSU.
Oregon State’s current coaching staff is made up of Deven Hunter, Aleah Goodman and head coach Scott Rueck.
With Chatterton on the staff, Oregon State had its best decade in women’s basketball. The Beavers won at least 20 games seven times during his tenure, and reached three Elite Eights and the 2016 Final Four.
Chatterton had previous coaching stops at Brigham Young and Colorado.
