SEC champion Tennessee remains No. 1 in our final College Baseball Top 25 Rankings ahead of the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Tennessee remains No. 1 in the Baseball America College Baseball Top 25 Rankings after winning the SEC Tournament, its second championship in three years. 

The Volunteers bounced back from a loss Wednesday in their first game of the tournament to win four straight games, including defeating LSU, 4-3, in the championship game. Tennessee also won the regular season conference title. It is No. 1 for the fourth straight week.

The top 10 remains unchanged after conference tournament week.

Dallas Baptist and Nebraska enter the Top 25 after winning their conference tournaments. DBU swept through Conference USA, defeating No. 1 seed and host Louisiana Tech in the championship game. Nebraska lost its opening game in the Big Ten Tournament before winning five straight games to win its first tournament championship since 2005, when it was a member of the Big 12.

Oregon and Texas dropped out of the Top 25 after going 0-2 in their conference tournaments.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through May 26.

Weekend Record reflects a team’s weekend results as a collective unit in an effort to incorporate tournament results and not just reflect a team’s record in weekend series.

Following a 13-4 tournament-opening loss to Vanderbilt, The Volunteers ripped off four straight wins en route to their second SEC Tournament championship in the last three seasons. Five lineup regulars had multiple RBIs and a handful of arms turned in quality appearances, but especially freshman Dylan Loy, who in the title game struck out five across 4.2 scoreless innings.

Kentucky went just 1-2 in Hoover, though its lone win was against No. 5 Arkansas. In that win, Ryan Waldschmidt crushed a pair of home runs and had four RBIs while Trey Pooser allowed three hits across five scoreless innings.

Following an emphatic win over Pittsburgh, North Carolina lost a 12-inning marathon to Wake Forest to conclude its ACC Tournament run. Anthony Donofrio blasted two homers and drove in six runs, while freshman Jason DeCaro struck out six and allowed two runs across seven innings.

The Aggies’ time in Hoover was short-lived as they dropped a pair of hard-fought games to Mississippi State and top-ranked Tennessee, respectively. A&M on Wednesday made a costly error in the ninth inning, while its bullpen faltered on Thursday. Freshman Gavin Grahovac was the biggest bright spot offensively, as he crushed a pair of solo home runs.

Arkansas made a quick exit from the SEC Tournament, going 0-2 in its two games. However, the theme of this week for the Razorbacks was lining up their pitching and preparing for the NCAA Tournament.

Oregon State went 1-1 in pool play at the Pac-12 Tournament, splitting one-run games against Stanford and Arizona State. The Beavers didn’t qualify for the semifinals, as they were held to just four runs on 12 hits in two games. The best performance of the week belonged to lefthander Nelson Keljo, who threw four hitless innings out of the bullpen to earn the win against Arizona State.

The Wolfpack went 1-1 at the ACC Tournament, routing Virginia Tech and losing to Duke in the de facto pool championship game. In the big win against the Hokies, both Garrett Pennington (4-for-5, 3 2B) and Alex Makarewicz (4-for-4) both collected four hits to lead the lineup.

Georgia made a quick exit from the SEC Tournament, losing to LSU in the single-elimination first round. The Bulldogs have now lost three straight games going into the NCAA Tournament.

The Demon Deacons notched a pair of wins to advance to the semifinals before dropping a hard-fought game to Florida State. Friday’s win was an instant classic that included a trademark Chase Burns performance (6 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 2 BB 15 K) and clutch hitting by Nick Kurtz, who hit the game-tying double in the ninth inning and the game-winning, two-run home run in the 12th. Marek Houston also had a strong week in which he had five RBIs and hit two home runs.

Clemson split a pair of games that finished 8-7 at the ACC Tournament, meaning it did not advance out of pool play. First baseman Jimmy Obertop went 4-for-8 with two doubles and a home run in the tournament.

Duke swept its way through Charlotte to secure its second ACC Tournament championship in the last four seasons. After erasing a five-run deficit on Tuesday, it was smooth sailing the rest of the way for the Blue Devils. Zac Morris and Devin Obee paced the offense with 10 and eight RBIs, respectively, while Ben Morris in the title game walloped two home runs and had six RBIs. Charlie Beilenson allowed two runs across three appearances (6.1 innings), while Andrew Healy on Thursday surrendered just one hit across five scoreless innings.

It was a great run at the ACC Tournament for Florida State who collected three wins before losing to Duke in the championship game. Jamie Arnold (6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 9 K) turned in a quality start to pace the pitching staff, while Drew Faurot, James Tibbs and Max Williams led the offense with six RBIs apiece.

American Athletic Conference Tournament (Clearwater, Fla.)

It was a long, five-game week in Clearwater for East Carolina that ended with a run-rule loss to Wichita State. The Pirates were without ace Trey Yesavage, who was recovering from a partially collapsed lung, but he figures to be ready to make his return to the mound next weekend. Their highlight of the week was a 12-run eighth inning on Tuesday against Rice in which they sent 15 hitters to the plate. Jacob Starling and Ryan McCrystal led the offense with five and four RBIs, respectively.

Virginia went 1-1 at the ACC Tournament and it lost to Florida State, meaning it did not advance out of pool play. Outfielder Casey Saucke homered in both games and went 3-for-9 with two home runs and a double.

It was a strong showing at the SEC Tournament for the Bulldogs, who picked up a pair of victories before losing two one-run games. The Bulldogs on Tuesday took down arch-rival Mississippi 2-1 thanks to a Connor Hujsak walk-off, two-run home run. The next day, Hujsak delivered the game-winning, two-run single against No. 4 Texas A&M. The veteran outfielder accounted for seven of Mississippi State’s 14 RBIs this week.

Oklahoma State won the Big 12 Tournament title, defeating archrival Oklahoma in the championship game. The Cowboys went 4-1 in Arlington, overcoming an early, extra-innings loss to UCF to win the event for the fourth time. Nolan Schubart homered in each of Oklahoma State’s last three games of the tournament, while Carson Benge was named tournament MVP after going 11-for-23 at the plate and turning in a quality start against Texas Tech to earn the win.

Oklahoma swept through the Big 12 Tournament before losing to Oklahoma State in the championship game. Lefthander Braden Davis got the week off to a strong start as he threw a four-hit shutout against TCU, striking out nine batters and walking none. While Oklahoma fell short of the Big 12 Tournament title, it won the regular season championship and is well situated for regionals.

UC Santa Barbara emphatically swept UC Riverside to finish the regular season on a 14-game winning streak and clinch the Big West title. The Gauchos have won the conference championship in three of the last five seasons after not having won a title since 1986. While UCSB is a little more known for its pitching this season, it this weekend flexed its offensive muscle, hitting nine home runs and scoring 38 runs against the Highlanders.

Arizona overcame a pool-play stumble to win the Pac-12 Tournament. The Wildcats beat USC in the championship game in walk-off fashion, as Tommy Splaine hit a game-winning single Saturday night. It was Arizona’s eighth walk-off victory of the season. Arizona, which also won the Pac-12 regular season title, will make its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Anteaters finished the regular season with a series win against CSUN. UCI has won 43 games already this season, matching the 2021 team for its highest win total since 2009 (45). They finished second in the Big West standings, trailing only UC Santa Barbara.

Louisiana dropped both of its games in the Sun Belt tournament. Following a loss Wednesday, the Ragin Cajuns’ bullpen on Thursday faltered and allowed six runs in the seventh inning. John Taylor drove in four runs to lead the offense.

Southern Miss swept through the Sun Belt Tournament to win the title for the second straight year since joining the conference. Righthander Colby Allen threw 5.1 scoreless innings across three games of the tournament, earning two wins and a save. In the championship game, Southern Miss erased three deficits, including being down 11-9 going into the ninth inning.

DBU swept through the Conference USA Tournament, beating host and No. 1 seed Louisiana Tech in the championship game. The Patriots hit six home runs in the title game, including two each from Grant Jay and Ethan Mann. It was DBU’s first conference tournament title since joining CUSA and its first overall since 2021, when it was a member of the Missouri Valley.

After an extra-innings loss to Southern Illinois in its tournament opener, Indiana State almost stormed through the losers’ bracket to take home its second-straight conference tournament title. However, it squandered an early 3-0 lead in the championship game and lost, 8-6. The Sycamores got a pair of stellar pitching performances courtesy of Zach Davidson (7.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 14 K) and Luke Hayden (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 9 K), while every offensive regular drove in at least one run.

After a loss to Ohio State in the opening round, the Huskers won five straight games to win their first ever Big Ten Tournament championship and their first conference tournament title of any kind since 2005, when they were members of the Big 12. Gabe Swansen delivered the go-ahead run in the ninth inning of the championship game with an RBI double, while Josh Caron was named tournament MVP after hitting six home runs on the week, breaking the tournament record.
