The Oregon Ducks stayed put in the new College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday night while the Oregon State Beavers benefitted from several teams ahead of them losing, allowing them to vault up the rankings.
The Ducks are No. 6, just behind the only team they lost to this season — Washington.
The Beavers moved from No. 16 to No. 12 following their win at Colorado.

Oregon gets USC this weekend, which fell out of the the rankings after its loss to the Huskies. Then the Ducks get 2-7 Arizona State before the season finale against the Beavers.
Oregon State faces 3-6 Stanford Saturday, then has a major test to end the season, hosting Washington and playing at Oregon.
The Ducks are still in the hunt for a playoff berth if they can run the table and win the Pac-12 Championship. The Beavers are pretty much out of the CFP race, but winning their final three games and maybe the conference title can land them in a New Year’s Six bowl.
Ohio State remained No. 1 with Georgia, Michigan and Florida State following the Buckeyes, as the selection committee stood pat with its top eight teams. Texas was seventh and Alabama was eighth.
Only one of the top 11 teams in last week’s first CFP rankings lost last weekend. Oklahoma dropped from ninth to 17th after losing to Oklahoma State. The Cowboys moved up to 15th.
This weekend sets up as one with potential to shake up the top four, with Georgia and Michigan both facing their highest-ranked opponents so far.
The Bulldogs host Mississippi, the committee’s ninth-ranked team. The Wolverines visit Penn State, which is 10th. Washington also faces a ranked team, with No. 18 Utah, coming to Seattle on Saturday.
