The highest-rated recruit of Smith’s six-year OSU tenure is clearly in Corvallis because of the coach. Smith won over the Downey, Calif. quarterback with plain, honest talk on the recruiting trail. He appears to be living up to those words as his coach during Chiles’ first year in school.
