Austin was a four-year starter at Oregon State
1) Making a difference
With his NIL deals, Austin launched the Overcoming Adversity Scholarship for high school seniors and college students with special consideration given to minority and first-generation students. To establish the scholarship fund, Austin collaborated with Access Scholarships and the Hirect App. Austin chose this route because he saw it as an opportunity to leverage NIL to make a difference in the lives of hard-working students who have overcome adversity in their lives.
2) Good company
Austin attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School where DeSean Jackson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and over 50 other NFL players also attended. During his high school career, the 3-star recruit recorded 60 tackles and 14 pass breakups over his junior and senior years. In 2018, he earned team All-League at both CB and wide receiver.
3) Plenty of starting experience
Austin spent all years of college at Oregon State (2019-22). He was a 2-time Honorable Mention for All-Pac-12 Conference in his final two seasons with the Beavers. He had a standout senior year with a career-high 57 tackles and 10 PBUs in 12 starts.
